Trenton Downtown Association Launches Grant for Eligible Businesses in Its District

Immediate financial support could be on its way to the merchants and restaurants of downtown Trenton, thanks to a new small business grant created by the Trenton Downtown Association (TDA). The TDA Community Business Grant will be issued to businesses with 50 or fewer employees, in amounts up to $3,000, based on documented need to restart or repair operations.

“This is a one-time growth grant designed to quickly infuse much-needed funding into our district’s small businesses,” says TDA Executive Director Tom Gilmour. “They are the heart and soul of this community and have done an amazing job coming together for the common good.”

All applications will be reviewed by an independent committee. Only businesses located in the TDA SID Zone, that either own the property/building or have an executed lease, are eligible. Other restrictions apply. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2020. The goal is to get immediate funding to eligible businesses, which include retailers, restaurants, salons, services and childcare centers.

“As we shift our focus to reopening, we cannot forget that many of our small businesses cannot come back without our support. That is our more urgent priority at TDA,” notes Gilmour.
